Jockey Club Community Arts Biennale 2015 - Life in the Walled Village

Hong Kong’s historic walled villages provide a fascinating glimpse into the city’s past. And for some of the senior villagers, aspects of traditional village life have continued unchanged for many decades.

Jockey Club Community Arts Biennale 2015 celebrates the different communities that have made Hong Kong what it is today. Join us to meet women elders of the walled villages of Lung Yeuk Tau, Fanling. Learn about the history of the village and find out about everyday life in a traditional community.

After meeting the village elders and listening to their stories, you will work with professional artists to create life portraits of the women that also feature unique landmarks and aspects of village life. All finished artwork will be showcased at the Biennale exhibition in July.
