Miller Performing Arts: All the Classroom's a Stage Teachers Workshop
25/09/2015
Drama is a powerful teaching tool. It can be used to promote cooperation and empathy, develop decision-making skills, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, build self-confidence and self-esteem, and encourage creativity and imagination.
This teachers workshop will use Blood Brothers as a stimulus to inspire teachers to apply drama techniques in class. The workshop will look into the social background of the story, the characters and relationships within the text, and explore some of the key themes, including friendship, identity, social hierarchies and superstition. Through drama games, hot seating and movement exercises, teachers will learn how a drama script can be adapted and used as a teaching tool in class.
