The aim of the workshop was to help teach the students how to paint in an abstract style and to produce work not only for their portfolio, but for the newly refurbished offices of Clifford Chance. Just 12 students were selected from over 300 applicants to work with British artist Gerard Bookle.

After an intensive summer workshop the students each produced a final painting, or set of paintings, that they presented to Clifford Chance. Clifford Chance was so impressed that before they were hung in the office they were exhibited in the Central Library as part of the Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival.
