Art Fun Day
Arts in the Plaza (AIP) is our annual arts carnival for the young and the young-at-heart! In year 2006 we had more than 30 interactive art stalls and a 3-hour non-stop dance and musical performance extravaganza. It did turn up the heat at Stanley Plaza on the day!
Supported by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, we carried on once again with the theme “Living with HIV”, to help raise awareness and take away the stigma of HIV/Aids. The campaign also helps educate people about the prevention and treatment of HIV/Aids.
Over 30 local schools and hundreds of corporate Art Angel volunteers participated in AIP 2006. It gave young people and their families the opportunity to “have-a-go” at an art activity and to enjoy more than 20 performances of different styles and genres. Young talents were seen on stage dancing and singing away as well as off stage creating innovative arts and crafts in over 30 interactive art stalls.
Our enthusiastic Art Angels volunteers enable people to experience the arts activities on the day and their sponsorship enables groups of disadvantaged young people to also enjoy the day. Working with young people and families certainly made the day most memorable for all.
