After the huge success of "Shakespeare 24" an international celebration of Shakespeare's 444th birthday last year, Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation will collaborate with the Noel Croucher Shakespeare Fund again for the "Ms Directing" Project in 2010.
Young female actresses will be mentored by professional female directors on a one to one basis to work on a female monologue from a Shakespearean play. During the rehearsal period, the director will introduce the play, the text and its themes to the young actresses and help them develop the role of the chosen Shakespearean woman.
We are now looking for young actresses between 15 to 25 years old to take part in Shakespeare "Ms Directing" Project. Each candidate must prepare a one minute ENGLISH monologue chosen from any Shakespearean plays to perform at the audition. Rehearsals held once a week during April to June 2010. Performances will be showcased in June. All rehearsals and performances will be conducted in English.
Deadline for registration: 8th March 2010
