YAF in association with Bloomberg will organize the first ever "Bloomberg Emerging Artists Programme" in Hong Kong to fund and support new and original work by up and coming Hong Kong artists.
A briefing session has been held on 23 May 2007 to help interested parties learn more about the programme. Some "frequently asked questions" can also be downloaded for reference.
The programme, as part of YAF's ongoing efforts to provide access to the arts with inclusive and inspirational projects that reach out to young people of all cultures, backgrounds and languages, offers talented artists the opportunity to create innovative and original projects or a series of works over the course of a three-month period.
Bloomberg also has a global mission to improve accessibility to the arts by supporting diverse educational projects that help enrich the community. By introducing the "Emerging Artist Programme", we offer the up and coming artists the opportunity to create innovative and original projects or a series of works over the course of a three-month period. The finished art work will be exhibited to the public at an inaugural exhibition, providing an important platform to support the development of a new generation of artists in Hong Kong.
The selected artists will be expected to work independently and produce an original piece or collection of works during the programme period. We are particularly interested in projects that would not be possible without our support and that reflect the mission of YAF to engage and inspire young audiences.
