From December 2006 to March 2007, YAF organized a series of teacher workshops and artist-in-residence programmes. Under the guidance of a team of experienced artists, more than 4,000 students explored different aspects of Chinese art, including ink painting, traditional natural dyeing, paper cutting, 60’s & 70’s propaganda poster designs and Chinese word formation. Participating students learnt traditional techniques to help them create artworks about their daily lives. The ultimate objective of this project is to expand young people’s knowledge of Chinese Culture, and reflect what they identify with and appreciate about the greater culture of China.

Thousands of completed artworks will be displayed in various exhibition venues during March to June 2007. YAF will arrange accompanying school tours and master classes. Every visitor will be distributed with a free educational leaflet to help them learn more about Chinese art.
