CLP Power Hong Kong Limited is committed to preserving the quality of our environment, through its constant support of education and community programme. In 2008 China Light Power will support a symbolic visual arts programme which will allow over 300 primary school students to create a Totem Pole, which will symbolize the difference we can make to our environment, as an individual, and as a community.
Students from 4 primary schools will make use of everyday items from nature together with recycled materials to decorate a 7 feet height totem. Led by YAF artists, students will learn the importance of their human power and create a simple mechanical device to generate renewable energy and light the totem pole. The completed Totem Poles will be displayed in each schools campus to arouse awareness, and inspire teachers, students and parents to protect and preserve Earth precious natural resources.
