University of the Arts London is Europe's largest university for art, design, fashion, communication and the performing arts. Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas, fashion and accessory designer who lectured at the London College of Fashion for over 10 years, is inviting young people with an interest in 3D design and fashion to participate in a one day intensive, inspiring fashion workshop - City Sanctuary.
Students may choose either of the one day workshops exploring the fashion design process; the Saturday workshop will focus on fashion design and the Sunday workshop will focus on body adornment and accessory design. The hands-on workshops will give Visual Art Students a taster of the design process as practised at the University of the Arts London and an opportunity to exhibit their work publicly. Participants will be taken through the fashion design process; inspired by the iconic architecture of Hong Kong. Students will work three-dimensionally on mannequins and develop their spatial and fashion awareness as they explore their personal responses to the city. The workshop culminates in the creation of fashion forward student responses to the concept of city camouflage that will form an integral part of the City Sanctuary exhibition to be held later in the year.
