Vivienne Westwood is undoubtedly one of the most innovative, yet provocative designers of our time and, fortunately for Hong Kong, an exciting exhibition ‘VIVIENNE WESTWOOD A Life in Fashion’ showcasing her works will be on display at the end of the year!
YAF is proud to have been invited to organize 2 creative art programmes which enable over a hundred young people to explore the style of Vivienne Westwood’s works and her vivacious personality through 2 different art disciplines, culminating in an exhibition.
Under the guidance of make-up artist Maysum, students explored the basic concepts and techniques of fashion styling & photography. Inspired by Westwood’s aphorisms, students created a collection of engaging fashion shots.
In addition, local artist Sum-Sum led a group of students in the creation of a 3m-high sculpture that echoes the signature look of Westwood’s shoes collection. Throughout this workshop, the participants learned craftsmanship skills enabling them to create relief works.
This exhibition not only showcases the artistic talents of Hong Kong’s young people but also pays tribute to this great designer.
