"MY SECRET FRIEND" – PUPPET MUSICAL & MAKING WORKSHOP |

Harnessing the imagination of children and celebrating their innocence and creativity, this project explores the precious role of the imaginary friend in the fantasy life of children.
Co-presented by YAF and professional puppet group Make Friends With Puppet, My Secret Friend puppet musical and puppet making project is one of the supported projects of Operation Santa Claus, an annual fundraising programme jointly organised by Radio Television Hong Kong and South China Morning Post.
Between March and May 2008, over 20 puppet musicals with the theme of "My Secret Friend" will be touring around local child medical centers, social welfare organisations and special needs youth centers. Performed by professional puppeteers, this project aims at providing alternative ways for parents and educators to understand children's minds and their inner feelings. A puppet making workshop will be held after each performance for participants to learn to make and operate their own puppets.
Additionally, sharing sessions will be held for teachers and social workers to pass on the skills of story-telling and using puppets as a medium to communicate with children.
