Swire Properties has a long term commitment in promoting art and cultural programmes within the communities that they operate in. This year, YAF will host its first ever visual arts workshop in Mainland China, benefiting 30 young people from the 47th Middle School in Guangzhou.
YAF artist Sik Tak Yin will lead the participants in a visit to The Guangzhou Triennial Exhibition in the Guangdong Museum of Art. It will be an enriching experience, giving the participants the opportunity to view a collection of artworks created by 181 artists from 40 countries. From this valuable opportunity the participants will use the works as an inspiration for creating their own artwork. During a series of workshop in October, students develop an appreciation for art and to express themselves through visual art.
Finished artworks will be exhibited in the museum from 27th October to 16th November, 2008.
