Funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Point to Point Site Specific Art Project" is a three-year project that aims to encourage young people to develop a sense of belonging to their community through art. At the same time, it celebrates the artistic talent of Hong Kong's young people with the general public by exhibiting their artworks in various public locations, such as shopping centres, parks and ferry piers.
The art educational programme this year will be held from January to April, 2010. A series of artist-in-school residency programmes, master classes and teacher workshops will allow over a thousand young people to create public art for specific locations to reflect and celebrate our community.
We are currently inviting individuals who are passionate about art creation to participate in our master class. Over a 4- to 6- week period, participants will work closely with a professional artist to create collective artwork, which will be showcased in a public space.
