YAF is delighted to receive funding from Operation Santa Claus for "The 'C' Word" – a project that offers young adults living with cancer an opportunity to express themselves through art in its many creative forms, culminating in a public exhibition in June this year.
YAF artist Rae Leung has been living with cancer since 2007. While articulating her inner voice through writing, blogging and the spoken word, she discovers the tremendous strength and support this has given her throughout her challenge with cancer. Through "The 'C' Word", she wants to empower others with the invaluable potential that such creative expression can offer. By sharing her creative voice through a series of workshops, Rae will guide participants on a creative journey of their own, exploring the various mediums of writing, collage and photography.
The art created during the workshops will be presented publicly in June, a dynamic exhibition that will both demystify cancer, and at the same time, bare its many truths.
We are currently recruiting young adults who are living with cancer or cancer survivors (includes those diagnosed with cancer, survived cancer and family members) to participate in our workshops. If you are interested and would like to know more please email: cword@hkyaf.com.
