Since light is what let us view the world and all its beauty, a group of children and young adults living with long-term illnesses have chosen light as the inspiration for artwork that they hope will inspire others.

With the support of the Agricultural Bank of China, YAF has invited 65 young people living with long-term illnesses to participate in a series of visual arts workshops to give them the chance to be creative and to help them boost their self-confidence. With help and inspiration provided by four local artists – Karen Pow, Hanison Lau, Arman Lam and Candice Keung – the participants worked closely with volunteers from Agricultural Bank of China to create paper light shades, collage portraits and found-object light boxes to reflect the possibilities of light. Participants' work will be on display in Harbour City this September. During the exhibition there will also be a free public workshop, where participants can learn how to make a simple cardboard chandelier.
