After graduating from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2002, Yan joined HKYAF to manage and coordinate a huge variety of visual arts projects. She loves exploring and developing new dimensions in visual arts, and sharing her ideas through projects for Hong Kong’s young people.
If I could meet an artist…
Antoni Gaudí - I love his incredible observation skills and how he takes inspiration from nature. He is a genius and all his works have a delicate touch to them. Also, I love Friedensreich Hundertwasser's works a lot. They are colourful, mysterious and full of imagination.
My favourite HKYAF project
Arts in the Park 2008, our first Arts in the Park! It was fun, exciting and challenging… leaving many sparkling moments in my memory. It’s HKYAF’s biggest outdoor event, and that year was the first time we attempted parade art. The young people created such gorgeous artworks, it was beyond our expectations. The entire creative progress was so inspiring, so full of imagination.
A superpower I want…
