We are currently seeking young songwriters aged 14 to 25 for our upcoming Voices Unleashed Cantonese songwriting programme – a project that nurtures an inclusive and equal world for all.
Whether you're an experienced songwriter, or just beginning your musical journey, if you have a passion for creating thought-provoking songs in Cantonese we want to hear from you!
Working with an acclaimed team of local artists, participating songwriters get the chance to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and create songs that draw inspiration from their extraordinary stories. The finished songs are then brought to life through professional recordings by a mixed-ability choir, and promoted through streaming platforms and live performances at local creative arts events.
Facilitating artists include Joseph Ho (member of Yat Po Singers, Set Tone Men and Zense), Sonic Lee (member of De Tesla, composer of 3CM and Housing Complex C), Winky Wong (member of award-winning pop group Beanies), and Kessay Chan (Top 10 Young Artist 2019, Director of Wai Sing Music Ltd., project advisor to Hong Kong Arts Festival).
This programme is part of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: stART Up Community Arts Project – an inclusive and accessible project promoting understanding and equality, and expanding perceptions of what art can be.
**Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. All places are first come, first served.**
