ArtisTree Selects: Theatre Bites - If Not Me Who
14-22/06/2019
“We are the last generation with a real opportunity to save the world” – Laurence Overmire (poet, environmentalist)
If Not Me, Who? is an urgent piece of eco-theatre that looks at the effects of climate disruption and how we can be motivated to change our way of life. Audiences will be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride that explores veganism, fast fashion, first world problems and the catastrophic environmental changes we are already experiencing.
Written and directed by HKYAF’s founder Lindsey McAlister, and featuring original music by Violaine Corradi – best known for her work with Cirque du Soleil – this new conceptual musical is performed by a cast of professional Hong Kong-based artists including David Allen, Eimear “Mimi” Burns, Isabelle Corradi, Leigh Gibbs, Jun Mabaquiao and King Wong.
