Jockey Club “Project Silver” – Intergenerational Arts Project
Mind the generation gap! As times change, differences in culture, values and beliefs can sometimes cause miscommunication and make it seem hard for people from different generations to find common ground. But whatever our age, we all share the same human experience and emotions. The Jockey Club “Project Silver” – Intergenerational Arts Project brings the young and the elderly together to help bridge the generation gap through the arts.
Promoting the concept of creative ageing, the project offers opportunities for immersive mixed-generation artistic collaborations, as well as a range of visual and performing arts activities. As part of the process, young participants are invited to visit care centres for the elderly and join them in fun, interactive activities. In sessions led by professional artists, participants are encouraged to communicate, share ideas and discover how much we all have in common!
We are now seeking artists who are passionate about working with young people and the elderly, as well as elderly service centres looking for stimulating new activities to enrich their clients’ lives. Please contact yan@hkyaf.com for details.
