Jockey Club “Project Silver” Intergenerational Arts Project 2022 – The Joyful Studio
01-07/08/2022; 08-14/08/2022
Family photo albums can be a source of great joy, bringing family stories to life and triggering fond memories. But photographs can also fade over time and sometimes they need a bit of care to preserve them.
This summer, as part of the Jockey Club “Project Silver” Intergenerational Arts Project, HKYAF collaborates with OHH Dear Communications to reopen our popular Joyful Studio. Providing photo retouching and photography services for elderly members of the community, The Joyful Studio brings favourite images back to life – transforming black-and-white photos with colour or making faded and discoloured photos look vibrant and new.
The Joyful Studio also features an exhibition of more than 30 childhood photos from the 1950s to 1970s on the theme of “Happy childhood”. Each image is shown before and after retouching, offering visitors a side-by-side comparison of how worn images can be given a new life.
