Falling Awake: The Musical – Auditions for Youth Performers

Fifteen-year-old Sage feels out of place, as if her coming-of-age is marked by a sense of imbalance. One day, she unexpectedly stumbles into a surreal realm – strange, beautiful, and full of secrets that hold the truth of her own heart. Joined by unexpected companions, what begins as a mystery soon becomes a journey of self-discovery.

Following the sold‑out success of last year’s flagship musical Likes and Lies, HKYAF proudly presents its latest original production, Falling Awake. Written and directed by Lindsey McAlister, with original music by Amuer Calderon, Falling Awake continues our legacy of creating musical works addressing social issues. The production takes the stage this November at The Box, Freespace.

We are now seeking talented singers, dancers, and actors aged 10 to 25 who are eager to be part of this innovative performance. While experience is preferred, enthusiasm and passion are a must!

Dance Auditions: 02 | 05 | 2026

Ages: 10 to 25 (choose one session)
●         10am – 11:30am
●         11:30am – 1pm
●         1pm – 2:30pm
●         2:30pm – 4pm
Preparation: Come prepared to learn contemporary and pop dance routines.

Acting/Singing Auditions: 03 | 05 | 2026

Ages: 10 to 25 (choose one session)
●         9:30am – 11am
●         11am – 12:30pm
●         12:30pm – 2pm
●         2pm – 3:30pm
●         3:30pm – 5pm
●         5pm – 6:30pm
 
New session on 02 | 05 | 2026 (SAT)
 ●         4:15pm – 5:45pm

 

Preparation: Please prepare one thirty-second song from any musical to sing without accompaniment.

Notes:
●         Audition spots are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
●         You are welcome to register for both acting/singing and dancing, but please note that you will ultimately be cast in only one role.
●         Callbacks will be held on May 23 (dance) and May 24 (acting/singing), and your availability on these dates is required.
●         Rehearsals will begin late August, with performances scheduled for November 26 – 28, 2026, at The Box, Freespace, WestK.
