Since 2008, Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras has been a popular community arts event, attracting over 65,000 visitors to the festivities, encouraging them to participate in vibrant and exciting art activities such as parades, arts stalls and dance performances. This year, the annual event will be held on 12 & 13 November at Victoria Park, cultivating a rich opportunity to showcase the artistic talents of Hong Kong’s youth while inviting the public to be creative!
This year's event is inspired by the famous novel Alice in Wonderland. It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into the whimsical world of Wonderland, filled with curious anthropomorphic creatures. The stage will be decorated as a chessboard showcasing an important scene from the story. The content of the parade and the free art stalls are inspired by 5 different scenes in the story.
On the day of the event, we will showcase colourful and vibrant parade costumes, giant puppets and flags created by 3,000 young people and dance performances by 70 youth groups. Don’t miss out on this exciting outdoor extravaganza! See you on 12 & 13 Nov at Victoria Park!
