Next up in our Blood Brothers series, we have Alex Beasley (photo: left 2) from the main ensemble.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Alex Beasley, I'm 17 and I go to West Island School.
Tell us about your role in Blood Brothers.
I was in the ensemble where we come out of the woods in certain times to sing or act throughout the show.
Did you do anything special for character development?
I did have to practice of my focus and stillness as during the performance we were in the "woods" and we had to be very focused on what was going on on stage.
How was this production different from past productions you've been in?
This production felt very professional. I gained many skills during the rehearsals as we really had to work together to choreograph some scenes such as “bright new day”. I gained teamwork skills and to be responsible.
What do you think was unique about this production?
I think the main thing that was unique about this production would be that almost everyone was on stage throughout the whole show and we didn't have an intermission. I also felt very welcomed and soon become part of the family.
What was the process of moving into the theatre from the rehearsal studio like?
This was a very exciting process. After months in a rehearsal studio we finally got to go and see the set and the props. The most challenging part was the positioning and the trees sometimes were getting in our way as we had never worked with them before.
I enjoyed…
I enjoyed making new friends and having the opportunity to work with such talented people.
The funniest thing was…
Patrick (a narrator) clapped his hand hight up in the air when Mrs L slapped Eddie.
The most challenging thing was…
The most challenging thing for me was the sign language during "Take a Letter".
I'm going to miss…
ALL MY BROTHERS!!
Three tips for a successful performance?
1. Pay attention to everything
2. Never be late to rehearsals
3. Practice something you don't get over and over again in your own time!
What's next now that Blood Brothers is over?
I am very upset. But i am soooooo excited to audition next year!
What was your childhood like?
My childhood was amazing. Couldn't ask for a better one! I even had a bike with both wheels on!
"I wish that I was bit like…that guy!" ____ Is there anyone you wish you were a bit like?
I wish I was a bit like Zac Efron because he has nice hair!
