PRIVACY POLICY
Personal Data (Privacy) (Amendment) Ordinance 2012 came into force on 1 April, 2013. According to the amendment, Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation reserved the right to send you the news or any other promotional materials if you agree or have no objection on this issue. We would like to keep in touch with you and update you the news of our productions, courses, talks, activities, education and outreach’s activities and any other special offers. We may need to use your personal data, including your name, address, phone number, email address and or the data that you provided us in order to contact you by the phone, mail or email irregularly. We will not use, transfer or share your data with any third parties unless we have received your consent.
The data will be collected and handled in accordance with our general personal data practice in following the Data Protection Principles above. The data will be secured by the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology with our website during network transmissions with access restricted to authorized personnel only.
When you visit our website we will record your visit only as a “hit”. The webserver makes a record of your visit that includes your IP* addresses (and domain names), the types and configurations of browsers, language settings, geo-locations, operating systems, previous sites visited, and time/durations and the pages visited (visitor data). We use the visitor data for the purpose of maintaining and improving our websites such as to determine the optimal screen resolution, which pages have been most frequently visited etc. We use such data only for website enhancement and optimisation purposes. We do not use, and have no intention to use the visitor data to personally identify anyone.
*IP stands for Internet Protocol. IP addresses are used by computers to identify other computers that connect to them.
PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION STATEMENT
This is a statement to inform you of your rights under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
Personal information is provided by you as a user through the registration for an online account and as an applicant through the completion of application forms designated to sign up to our programmes. Data collected are used specifically for the purposes prescribed in the application forms and will serve:
a) as a basis for selection of applicants;
b) as evidence for verification of the applicant's information;
c) as contact details;
d) for reporting purposes (e.g. HKYAF Annual Report, sponsor reports); and
e) subject to your consent, to send to you promotional and marketing materials through email or digital media, in relation to > i) promotions and events in Hong Kong hosted, sponsored or organized by Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation; or ii) any rewards, discounts offers, membership, privileges, advantages or benefits offered by Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation; collectively the "Marketing Activities”.
Personal data will be kept confidential and handled by the HKYAF staff members. We will not use, transfer or share your data with any third parties unless we have received your consent. Under the provisions of the Ordinance, you have the right to request the HKYAF to ascertain whether it holds your personal data, to be given a copy, and to apply for correction of the data, if deemed incorrect. When filling in an application form, please note that it is mandatory for you to provide personal data marked with asterisks. In the event that you do not provide such data, we may not be able to provide you our services.
