Meet Vivian Ho, a talented YAFie, and currently interning at our office. Vivian started performing in HKYAF’s projects in 2014 and has been involved in over 20 projects! Read on as Vivian shares her awesome YAFie experience and what she does to cultivate creative energy.
Hi! My name is Vivian, I’m 18 years old, and I’m currently an intern with HKYAF!
Why did you decide to join HKYAF as an intern?
I decided to join HKYAF as an intern because I knew that I wanted to involve myself within an arts organisation, and what I’ll learn during my internship would be helpful in my career in the future.
What's your most memorable event/ project with HKYAF and why?
My most memorable project with HKYAF would probably be when we performed the musical Fame in 2018. There were so many amazing memories made during that 3-month process! I remember the immense preparation during our long rehearsals, the injuries we endured through, and all the passion the cast shared with each other throughout those final rehearsals and show days.
Who is your favourite artist?
My long-time favourite artist is Andrew Winghart. I remember when I first discovered his work on Youtube years ago! His choreography is so out of the norm and I aspire to take after him when creating my own pieces.
What do you do when you're looking for inspiration?
I like to find inspiration in many ways! Usually, when I’m trying to find something new, I love to find new music and film myself improvising to it. A lot of my choreography comes from those videos of me messing around and finding new ways to create with my body.
What are you going to do after completing your internship with HKYAF?
Next month I’ll be finishing up my internship with HKYAF and I will be heading down under! I will be studying the Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in dance at the Queensland University of Technology.
