What made you decide to become a visual artist?
According to my mother, I held my first exhibition on our walls at home when I was two years old. No one raised an eyebrow when I began working as a visual artist.
When did you start creating works related to environmental issues?
It was a steamy afternoon in the summer of 2014, I was drifting in and out of slumber. At my first sober moment, I wrote the synopsis of Plastic, plastic, every where! in one sitting. The synopsis became everything that I do artistically today.
Do you have a favourite piece out of all the artworks that you have created?
When I look at my past works, I always see room for improvement. Hopefully, the next artwork I’m going to create will be my favourite piece.
What is your favourite colour?
Chrome yellow. It’s the happiest colour out of all the colours!
As individuals, what we can do to protect the environment?
Too many to count! We can start with small changes in personal habits, such as reducing meat consumption, usage of air-conditioning, takeaway orders and other meaningless consumption, to volunteering our time towards beach clean-ups and other environmental activities. The most important – and the easiest – is to set a good example for others.
If the world coming to an end in 24 hours, what will you do?
Spend every minute with loved ones.
Tell us one quote that inspires you.
“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." – Oscar Wilde
This quote comes from the play Lady Windermere's Fan. The stars refer to one's lover. However, stars can also be read as one's dreams and all beautiful things.
