The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: stART Up Community Arts Project – Community Dance Blackbox Theatre Performance: Urban Weave
07/03/2026; 07/03/2026; 08/03/2026
What comes to mind when you think of Hong Kong? Is it the towering skyline of high-rises and mountains, the rhythm of ever-changing traffic lights, or the smiles you receive from neighbours when you cross paths?
The Community Dance Blackbox Theatre Performance: Urban Weave shares personal stories of Hong Kong by differently-abled dancers. Led by choreographer Malvina Tam, inclusive arts practitioner Scarlette Cheng (C+), and Comma Chan, founder of Dark Theatre and Artscompana, the inclusive performance invites audiences to see the city through the dancers’ eyes. Celebrating diversity through the memories and connections that shape our communities, it reminds us of the unique individual perspectives that make up Hong Kong’s rich culture.
On 7 and 8 March, join us for a free 70-minute performance at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (Jockey Club Black Box Theatre) in Shek Kip Mei. Advance online registration and a deposit of HK$50 is required on art-mate. The deposit is refundable in full after attendance.
