Standard Chartered Youth Creative Industry Employment Scheme - Theatre and Technical Arts

In March and April 2022, as part of The Standard Chartered Youth Creative Industry Employment Scheme providing funding and employment opportunities for young people starting careers in the creative industries, we are offering actors and technical artists the chance to develop and stage a Cantonese-language theatrical piece and tour it in local schools.

Working with Lindsey McAlister, founder of HKYAF and experienced theatre director, young theatre performers will create and perform a piece about safe and responsible internet use under the theme “Unplugged”. The production and technical crew, led by experienced stage manager Fred Cheung, will be in charge of organising and running the school tour. If you would like to be part of this project, we are now recruiting actors, production assistants and stage technicians aged 25 or below. Applicants are required to have Hong Kong Permanent ID cards. Priority will be given to 2020 and 2021 local graduate applicants.

Performers
- Performers must be fluent in Cantonese
- Workshop facilitation experience is a plus Auditions take place on 7 and 8 Dec 2021 (10:30 am – 12:30 pm), callbacks on 15 Dec 2021
- Please submit an online application along with your CV and a recent photo School tours take place in March and April 2022. Official dates will be announced in January 2022.

- Applications for all behind-the-scenes positions are welcome. Professional training will be provided for the school tours
- School tours take place in March and April 2022. Official dates will be announced in January 2022. Please ensure that you can attend all performances
