The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: stART Up Community Arts Project – Seeking artists, schools and community groups
Project brief
Art is a universal language that can bring together people of all ages, cultures and abilities. In 2023/2024, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: stART Up Community Arts Project – which runs from September 2023 to March 2024 – takes inclusion as its focus. Through accessible arts opportunities for people of all ages, cultures and abilities, the programme aims to promote understanding and equity among people of diverse backgrounds, and expand perceptions of what art can be.
(Application deadline extended)
Our aim is to create a barrier-free arts platform and promote inclusive opportunities for people of all abilities. If your school or community group is interested in taking part in a dance/movement theatre production or choir performance, and/or creating visual art works for an exhibition, please fill in this online form to let us know.
SEEKING ARTISTS
(Application closed)
We are currently looking for emerging and experienced visual and performing arts artists, who are passionate about breaking down barriers and collaborating with young people and individuals with different abilities. Artists will be asked to think outside the box, and to explore new and innovative ways of using dance, physical theatre, music, illustration, photography, sculpture and more, to create works of art that are inclusive, empowering, challenging and inspiring.
To support our artists, we are hosting mandatory capacity-building sessions in June/July 2023. Through these sessions, artists have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills, and network with others who are passionate about bringing together young people and individuals with different abilities.
