What is the most memorable artwork you have created?
The shutter artworks I created in the HK Urban Canvas project this year. Painting on shutters was something new for me. The project got a lot of positive feedback, which was really encouraging.
What do you do if you’re looking for inspiration?
I go hiking. It relaxes your body and soul, and you can enjoy the scenery along the way. I also really enjoy the sense of satisfaction you get from working up a good sweat!
If you weren’t an artist, what would you do for living?
I’d be a computer programmer. I’ve loved computer coding since I was small and I studied Information Technology at university.
If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
My parents’ wedding. I think that would be really interesting.
Do you have any advice to youngsters who are passionate about visual arts?
Start with a style you like and are good at. Then you can create your own personal style and keep persevering.
Who is your favourite artist?
The Japanese manga artist Taiyo Matsumoto. He’s always exploring different painting styles to describe different stories. Each piece of work is really amazing.
