Matilda
04-05/04/2014
Inspired by Roald Dahl's beloved classic children’s book Matilda, this original theatre performance follows a bright young booklover who dreams of a better life. Disregarded and belittled by her dimwitted parents and the outrageous and wicked school headmistress Miss Trunchbull, Matilda ultimately takes a stand against unjust forces and grasps her destiny in her own tiny, but powerful, hands.
After three months of intensive training, 20 young performers chosen in an audition workshop last December proudly present Matilda. Through this project, the participants have learnt to devise and collaborate creatively, working with professionals to create a high-quality production and gain a better understanding of theatre. This is a free performance performed in English and Cantonese. School booking is now open to schools with students aged 6 and above. To make a school booking, please email kerryL@hkyaf.com for a booking form by 14 March. Booking for public performances begins mid-February.
