The world’s most popular musical The Sound of Music is coming to Hong Kong with a lavish production from the home of West End musical theatre, the famous London Palladium!

Presented by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions with auditions held in conjunction with HKYAF, we are now seeking talented young performers to play the iconic roles of the von Trapp children. This is a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform alongside musical theatre professionals.

Since its first performance on Broadway 55 years ago, The Sound of Music has been singing its way into everyone’s hearts with some of the most memorable songs ever performed on the musical theatre stage, including Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Climb Ev’ry Mountain, The Lonely Goatherd, My Favorite Things, The Sound of Music, Do-Re-Mi and Edelweiss. This May and June, after a tour around the world with stops including UK, Canada, South Africa, Singapore, New Zealand and China, this iconic show will take to the stage in Hong Kong - don't miss it!

We are seeking young talented performers for the roles of:
•    Friedrich (1.525m tall, unbroken voice, playing age 14)
•    Louisa (1.5m tall, undeveloped body, playing age 13)
•    Kurt (1.45m tall, unbroken voice, playing age 11)
•    Brigtta (1.4m tall, playing age 9/10)
•    Marta (1.325m tall, playing age 7)
•    Gretl (up to 1.2m tall, no younger than 6 years old)

Rehearsals: 20 April until performances
Performances:  15 May – 21 June 2015,  Lyric Theatre, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

Auditions
Venue:  Hong Kong Arts Centre’s Shouson Theatre. 

Everyone auditioning must be available all three of the following days: 
•    Friday 16 January 2015, 9am – 6pm (all applicants need to be in attendance for the whole day)
•    Saturday 17 January 2015, 9am – 6pm (only successful applicants will be invited back)
•    Sunday 18 January 2015, 9am – 6.30pm (the final selection of applicants will be invited back)
