Beyond Environmental Arts Festival 2024 – Seeking Emerging Singers／Bands

Calling all talented young singers and bands! 

We are currently seeking passionate solo artists and groups to take the stage and ignite hearts at the Beyond Environmental Arts Festival 2024. 

If you’re dedicated to making a difference to our world and have a deep passion for music and the environment, we want to hear from you! Don’t miss out on this incredible chance to change the world through harmonies, celebrate the beauty of nature, and inspire a sustainable future for all. 

** Please read the programme guidelines before applying

Audition process:

Applications are open for emerging solo singers and bands with up to 5 members.

Auditions will be held over two days. (Each singer/band attends one audition session only).

Selected applicants must be able to commit to attending the general rehearsal, on-site run through and performance dates (please see timeline below).

Please prepare:
● A 30-second self/band introduction.
● A 5-7 minute set comprising 1 – 3 song(s) that are about climate change and encouraging positive action. This will ideally be the set you will perform for the event.
● The song should be suitable for audiences of all ages (no strong language or adult themes).
● Songs in English, Cantonese or Mandarin are welcome.

Timeline
– May 9: Registration deadline 
– May 15 and 19 (11am – 1pm): Audition sessions 
– Early June: Announcement of selected performers
– June 14 (6pm – 9pm): General rehearsal (you will be called in groups) 
– June 28 (3pm – 8:30pm): On-site run through and first performance
– July 6 (3pm – 8:30pm): On-site run through and second performance 

Audition and rehearsal venue: 
Music Studio, 6F, Youth Square, 238 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan

Performance dates and venues: 
● The Bank of East Asia Building, Central (28 June)
● BEA Tower, Kwun Tong (6 July)

Language: Rehearsals are conducted in both Cantonese and English

Between 2024 and 2026, a series of fun, enriching visual and performing art experiences will take place across Hong Kong, engaging over 400 youngsters aged 4 to 18 living in small group homes and foster care services.
